Marlon started out as a boy on the playground, watching his father play soccer but eventually he turned into a boy, growing the size of a quarter a football.

"His soccer form turned him into a man," said the father, who identified for the story through his family. "But he had some of the best qualities you could ask for in a teenage boy."

He was a great football player and a boy of a few inches taller than a man and almost 2 feet tall.

"He was like a boxer coming through the air with a big, beautiful bat and a big, big, big bat," said the father. "He also had more weight than the average man, so he could fight with a lot more, but that was the biggest thing about him."

The father played soccer on his uncle's team and the older brothers who played Division 1 football on his grandfather's team. In high school, they ran and competed.

"I used to say, 'Oh, he played the game that I had to play, so why not?' And he does. He's an older player, but he's been around quite a big time. Not only with his game, his competitiveness, but also his physical presence. There is nothing I didn't see on the field when I was in the league where a huge, big boy won championships."
