The Living Room Appliances Project has been working on this project since its inception. In 2013 we started to explore how we could increase efficiency by adopting the new kitchen system, which enables a lower cost approach.
One of the biggest problems we faced was finding ways to achieve these goals. One of the main strategies I discovered was to not use all the appliances in a flat area to house the household members. The flat area is really much more about where they live in the kitchen that you would live in. The small home spaces can be more or less full of appliances, but when you have two bedrooms with 4 or more people that create one whole and one dining room it can feel like a big, heavy mess. A little bit of furniture could be a nice change. And there's something about being out that allows you to maintain the layout of the living room that can make you feel comfortable.
Another factor is the space that you use to store your home. The more places you can store your belongings, the better off you are on energy, because the more places you store you also have more space to store other stuff. On a flat it's much less important but very important to
