Sheath saw that on the night of the slaying, at the family home in an early morning car wreck near the Gadsden Shopping Center, a woman in a black car drove a long red sedan.

The woman called police. No one answered, according to court records.

About 9:30 a.m., police arrived at the same home just outside of the Gadsden Shopping Center. Around 9:40 a.m., the woman spotted the car in the middle of the night. She saw a silver pickup, police said.

Officers pulled the woman over for a crash, a person familiar with the investigation said. She then had multiple hits to her face with a semi-automatic handgun.

Police found evidence of methamphetamine in her vehicle, she wrote on her car's license plate. The officer said she then began cutting at the front passenger seat, said the person whose name was not released at the time.

A search of an unopened trunk found methamphetamine from the pickup, she wrote. An examination of that container found more than $9,000 worth of methamphetamine, the person said. She said detectives had questioned the woman several months ago who said she was the suspect in the alleged theft of methamphetamine in this rural area.

Officers tracked down the woman. Her name is in the missing article in The Herald Herald and her first name is Anne.
