"It's really going to be about people bringing jobs back to a place where they can get them somewhere else," T.E.'s executive director, Linda K. Jones, tells Daily News on Monday.

The site is scheduled to open in May for public hearing following a recent meeting between city planners and a board comprising the two agencies' representatives, according to Kavita Patel, spokeswoman for the Planning Department.

Residents will hold two separate meetings for planning, to create a forum about how to improve the way the land is used, and to consider which forms of development should be done to provide for the proposed residential development, which is expected to run through at least 2020.

Kavita Patel tells Daily News that the meeting is intended to make it clearer that the land will be part of a multi-year process to secure a permit from the City.

The meeting will also discuss planning concerns in regard to the planned conversion of a vacant site, "because, if you don't have enough people, you need to work with developers, not with land administrators," she says.

The committee is still in place, though the process may need an addition, according to a city official who asked anonymity because some of the
