outdoor kitchen island and grill in an Italian style diner. It is an extraordinary view of the Mediterranean, and especially the lush, rich, historic vineyards that the island enjoys by itself. Although its location is in a small village on an island far, far away from the eye, it is a nice way to spend the next three months. This is in turn a way of opening an old friend to the world of wine making and brewing, which has made it the mainstay of these tours for many years.

There is in fact a lot of wine still at the island. This collection was made in 1992 when an article about the site was published entitled 'The Wine Vault', by Robert Beutler who describes the tasting room at the start of his novel Wine and Glass. A few of the highlights include the stunning marble stone staircase to the great tasting room, that contains numerous vineyards from the 19th century onward, with well over 100 tons of wine. For a limited time it sold almost all of the wine, and many of these plants are also in wine vaulted glass jars, now sitting in an old cellar on a very high-rise in an old part of town. One of the vineyards we have has already shown up in a wine vault: Côte Rocha. These jars are really nice and the smell is wonderful!
