Dennis made the most of the night and his girlfriend kept him from sleeping as well. He told us he kept talking about how it felt if his life was over for him and everyone else. He said he got so drunk at work, he couldn't walk or swim and even though he stayed home from work, they were having a good time.

"We got up to 10 degrees the next day and had to stay inside," Duncan says. "The fire was lit, so we went outside to wait."

Duncan's life changed dramatically when his father, a former high school football coach, passed away at 89 in December. After Duncan graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, his father and friends began trying to bring him back to his former life in Pittsburgh where he would join the football team or participate in the community club. To his disappointment, he didn't bring home enough.

While his first coach left, Duncan started working for a small investment bank. Over lunch in August of 2012, they became even better partners. When the bank's directors informed him that they did not want to invest in a property, Duncan decided to go with them.

What did he find while there? His father had a nice house with a garden and a hot tub he could let people share. His mother moved in with him, and he used a small kitchen on the back lawn to prepare meals. After five weeks
