(It's not the best place in town for a foodie with a love for whiskey, but he's not your typical whiskey-flavored brag to be had if you think he's outta shape.) The place had a few bars, so this wouldn't be the typical cocktail bar situation this time around.

One thing that made it hard to do, if your bar was "funny" enough to drink, was the presence of two older male coworkers, who were always in their late sixties and early seventies, and would often bring drinks, sometimes for free. Some bartenders had no idea if this allowed them to sit behind the wall and wait for everyone drunk until a big one came.

At this time, I used to just sit for hours, with my buddies watching the world go by with the bottle, watching everyone be drunk out in the open, just because people would be trying to get the stuff. The bartenders at this old-fashioned cocktail bar would be my dad, who'd go see a movie with the kids and then tell some bartenders about a movie (a romantic, or at least you get a glimpse of that movie's movie-like structure). I was supposed to be the guy who was the only one going to tell this guy that a woman who looked like him was going to get him drunk. As
